Created "Portal to the Black Experience"

Conceived and directed the construction of a research database, as part of a $210,000 IMLS grant. Portal to the Black Experience, Beta, is an open source search portal developed for researchers, teachers and the general public. This prototype contains over 2,100 names of persons of African descent and related others, along with structured biographical information, and links to networked library and archival resources.

As the Head of Metadata & Resource Description Services, I helped to implement two new integrated library systems, conceived of and oversaw the creation of an original relational, research database, and am responsible for all metadata migration, editing and creation.
